Testimonials
Denmark Pilongo
Customer Service Specialist

"I am glad I found The American Institute because they helped me in improving my conversation fluency and developing my confidence. At first, I was very intimidated when speaking in English, but I became more and more comfortable. I am currently working as customer service specialist in the BPO/Call Center industry, and I have The American Institute to thank for. I am still a part of the institute through their English Club called Universal Pro-English Club. We've done many activities including trips to Baguio, Lucena, interview strategies, and many more so that we can use English in a natural setting."

Alice Anod
Accountant and Auditor

"The English language Specialists are very different from all the teachers I've had in high school or college. Most teachers I've had in the past were very strict and distanced themselves from the students, but these guys will make you feel like you're one of them. In fact, we call them by their first names, not "sir" or ma'am." They respect us as students with individuality, and at the same time, we respect them for their knowledge and expertise. I used to work for a relatively small local bank, but now I work for a major international firm after developing my speech and communication skills through them."

Elaine Villafuerte
Hotel Operations Specialist

"Before I came to The American Institute, I was already somewhat confident with my English; I simply wanted to polish my speech and communication skills. What I found was that I had so much more to learn. They really taught me how not to just speak English, but how to speak WELL. I was able to improve my critical thinking skills and became a more organized speaker. Now, I work for a five-star hotel, and I am so much more confident when dealing with local executives as well as foreign business professionals. I would highly recommend their services."

I always state this, but I know very few people believe. lolz. ...
that I am a very shy person deep inside.
I just try to conquer it each moment I have to.
In fact I have a hard time sending messages to a guy that I like him.
What happens normally is that he finds me snob and walk away. (sigh...)

Any suggestions of sending this message without over-doing it?
Guys, how would you prefer a girl sends you the message that she likes you?
What's too much? What's aggressive? What's turning you off? What's cool? What's just right?

Gals, what do you think is too much for us? What's too conservative?

It's too much and aggressive when you send a second letter after the first (which is all about you like him). And then send more letters after letter after letter. But it isn't necessarily a turn off. Some guys may get fascinated with your letters, but it doesn't mean he likes you. It's just that he may find the letters interesting.

Some guys are auditories, I mean, they like to hear or read stories and if you are a good storyteller, in the long run you may be able to capture his heart. But that will be a problem because, it would appear too much if you will write a second letter (saying that you like him). You may resolve it by being indirect. Don't reveal that you like him, never, not even to your close friend who is his friend (or who knows one day your friend and him may become friends and all your secrets will have the chance to be revealed in a very innocent way). (This is only applicable to guys, I feel). Reveal it later when he's already yours. If you will reveal it too early you may not be able to create the tension that creates that strange feeling of love. Make the letter more friendly, that is, making some kind of a maintained distance, not close sounding and not too far either, just enough for a good regular friendly communication,....I think you have to write the letter in a way that it's all about friendship. In this way, the second letter would not appear and sound too much and you will be able to write as many letters as you want until he bumps his head on his computer and realize he loves you.

But I may be misinterpreting you. When you say 'you like a guy' what do you exactly mean? Friendship or more than friendship? I mean, what do you honestly feel there deep inside when you say 'I like him' that 'I wish to write or send him letters or messages'?

Lolz... hi ribozyme..
For me, probably liking a guy is aahmmm.. admiring him... admiring what I see,
and want to get to know him more.
Then if I will still like him after I really get to know him, that's another thing.

When i said sending him a message, i meant showing him I am interested on knowing him, not giving him a letter. I might die doing so Smiley).
Sorry for the confusion. Smiley

Sorry to break it to the girls..  trek trek

Men are naturally not very sensitive on body language and messages. Except for a great few people.

Since the time when houses were made of rocks. Man was never very good in reading between the lines. On the other hand women were design to be sensitive since they have to take care of babies. Lol and babies speaks dadadadalalala uwaaa (Aliens could not understand them..  chair chair)

On a serious side and in my opinion a good smile is always welcome. I always believe in the power of smiles.  cheers1

I still believe in our culture and beliefs, that a guy should do the first move and should be the one to court a girl. Although its kinda hard or unfair to us girls because we can't choose who we like and were just waiting for the gentelmen to approach us. Not unlike with the male they are free as a bird to choose their ideal woman and has a lot of preferences compare to us. So clmirand friendly advice dont dare to show motive to a guy and as much as you can you let him do the first move. And if a guy really likes and love you he will really find a way just to please you and of course to win your heart.

Have you heard of the saying "Once is enough, Twice is too much?".
I bet once or twice you did, right?
I think it's okay to give signs, simple gestures like meeting that person's look.
Or bumping him slightly when you cross paths.
But once you've given signs and see no efforts from the other party it's time to stop and look for other prospects that actually might read between the lines. roll2

I ain't really suggesting that you look for someone else. Haha. You can never replace someone in your heart. That particular person will always be special to you, right? But if you're just hurting & crying for the longest time I think it's not healthy for you to be loving someone who doesn't even give a damn to what you feel. I'm telling you, it's not worth it. If you can't move on, move forward. And everything would follow. He couldn't possibly be your everything, correct? This is a big world. There are other fish in the sea. You just have to wait and be patient for the right one to come.  wedgie Cheer up and let's toast! Smiley cheers1

To everyone: The comments were funny and even surprising for I seem to find out or discover a love team in here lolz.
Sorry for not in loggin in and not replying on this thread for a long while.

For the comment, guys are having a hard time reading between the lines.... sometimes we women are afraid to let you know how we feel for sometimes, there are guys who take advantage. There are also guys who stay away and don't like it. If you guys are confused how women think, we gals, are also confused what you really want.

Sigh!Sigh!Sigh!Sigh!
There are also guys who like to play strategies, gimmicks, etc.

When what we all want is to find love, share and show it and be loved in return.

Sigh!Sigh!Sigh!Sigh!Sigh! Again.

But maybe, that's what makes it more romantic. The challenge of chasing.... the non-stop wondering if the other party feels the seem way.... the patience in waiting... and winning his / her heart in the end.

Sigh!Sigh!Sigh!Sigh! Again LOLz.

Indeed, we, guys, are often insensitive. We do not rely on theories; we need solid proofs Cheesy  wedgie

It's highly time that girls should be vocal with their feelings - today is not the same as the ancient times when the guys did all the moves in showing how he loved the girl; today, is the time when girls should show their feelings, act according to how they feel toward a guy.

Put aside your 'Maria Clara' virtues; 'Jose Rizal' is not here anymore! Don't smile and cover your lips with your fun - smile and show it to us Cheesy:D:D  wos_musik8

As for me, there are no weaker sex. Both men and women should enjoy equal privileges and this includes wooing.  Grin Why you have to lock yourself on the world you used to know?
