Testimonials
Denmark Pilongo
Customer Service Specialist

"I am glad I found The American Institute because they helped me in improving my conversation fluency and developing my confidence. At first, I was very intimidated when speaking in English, but I became more and more comfortable. I am currently working as customer service specialist in the BPO/Call Center industry, and I have The American Institute to thank for. I am still a part of the institute through their English Club called Universal Pro-English Club. We've done many activities including trips to Baguio, Lucena, interview strategies, and many more so that we can use English in a natural setting."

Alice Anod
Accountant and Auditor

"The English language Specialists are very different from all the teachers I've had in high school or college. Most teachers I've had in the past were very strict and distanced themselves from the students, but these guys will make you feel like you're one of them. In fact, we call them by their first names, not "sir" or ma'am." They respect us as students with individuality, and at the same time, we respect them for their knowledge and expertise. I used to work for a relatively small local bank, but now I work for a major international firm after developing my speech and communication skills through them."

Elaine Villafuerte
Hotel Operations Specialist

"Before I came to The American Institute, I was already somewhat confident with my English; I simply wanted to polish my speech and communication skills. What I found was that I had so much more to learn. They really taught me how not to just speak English, but how to speak WELL. I was able to improve my critical thinking skills and became a more organized speaker. Now, I work for a five-star hotel, and I am so much more confident when dealing with local executives as well as foreign business professionals. I would highly recommend their services."

i download marvel comic books. i'm still finishing up the x-men, but it's so convoluted nowadays that i lose track of what i should be downloading. and that whole messiah complex is a pain and the civil war storylines are voluminous. i only download the cbr formats. i don't usually read much comic books, i only like the penciling style somehow, especially from jim lee, whilce portacio, marc silvestri, todd mc'farlane's run on spider man, stephen platt during his first prophet runs, michael turner, dwayne turner, mike finch, jae lee, sam keith, art adams etc. but sometimes i get engrossed with one story line that i tend to follow the story arcs.

other than the mutant comic titles, i also read other comic book stuff. i liked the frank miller stories, especially sin city, but during the heydays of those comic books i can't afford any of 'em, besides those darkhorse comics were hard to find here in the philippines. so i only read all the sin city comic books when the great nerd comic book nation decided to scan them comic books and put it on cbr formats, now i can read every comic book i always wanted to read.

i couldn't afford batman comic books either so cbr's are a great way to read 'em, i just borrow a laptop at the office and read at home at my leisure. that's what i did with frank miller's "the dark knight returns". and lots of other batman titles.

some other comic books i downloaded i haven't read yet, like the rest of  witchblade and darkness, after michael turner, it just turned me off. the volume 2 of the darkness is haven't found the time to read yet. the max is just waiting for me, and the rest of wetworks is a total snore, i still have my wetworks number one gatefold cover. but i've either sold or given away some valuable ones, but i don't have no interest in golden age or silver age comic books. i just want to learn how to pencil on my own and draw dynamic figures.

anyway, all i'm saying is that i read comic books  Grin

WOW a kindred spirit!!
I do have the complete messiah complex circle and right now I go gaga over Necrosha!! its a must have.

Yes its all in CBR and CBZ format.
I think you need to change your viewer. there are some viewers that are hard to configure.

well the penciling part is now changed since Jim Lee left. Im now looking at the story arc which I find it interesting. Like Rogue now is "fixed" after Xavier helped her. that means she has complete control over her powers.

I agree with you. Its really hard to find comics under Darkhorse. I wanted to have Shi title but.. a big frustration.

Hey I suggest you find the ongoing Necrosha story line and the Dark Reign. Also Try Ms Marvel and how she kicked moonstone's ass hehehe. the arc is the war of the marvels

Asfar as I can see it, Necrosha is marvel's version of DC's blackest night.

WHOA !!! yeah, a kindred spirit  coolthumb

now that you've mentioned it, never heard about that Necrosha story line yet, so thanks for the heads up. i'm still waiting for the dark reign complete set before i download it, so i haven't even begun reading any of it. one thing i'm guessing from it is that marvel would turn around tony stark's character and not put him in the baddest of light anymore. stark was such an hello in civil war. made me really root for cap...

the blackest night i just saw on my kid's dvd, a preview on what DC planned for their epic story arcs. i guess they're trying to outdo the marvel zombie moniker. one thing i didn't like about the green lanterns is that the wielders of those power ring lacks the imagination and creativity to fully maximize the power rings. what a let down. anyway, i only read DC comics for the batman stories, i really do hate superman, i mean, super powers, man of steel, but zero intellect, you know, like my kid arkady one said that he doesn't like superman, to him, all superman does is fly and look pretty. but i liked kingdom come and justice by alex ross and that's the only superman and justice league stories i read worth the while.

cddisplay works fine with me, and that's all i need to read 'em cbrs. no problems with it so far so why fix something that isn't broken. and i have the shi books on cbr, it wasn't that great though, just some ninja chick dressed in skimpy clothing that doesn't even serve as an armor, i read it and found myself wanting more from it...

thanks for the heads up on necrosha. i better start downloading the dark reigns first though...

I dont care much about the dark reign. i have the complete list of X-men dark reign including the aftermath. its about Norman Osborn who helloed up the marvel universe dressing up criminals.  including Moonstone (as Ms Marvel) and  Bulls eye as Hawkeye.
I cant wait to read what will happened next to Necrosha. Selene ( Black Queen of the hell fire club) resurrected dead mutants for her bidding.

cool  coolthumb

do you only read marvel stuff? i also downloaded image titles, like wetworks of course, and i followed the spawn series, which isn't all that good anyway. the other books i haven't read at all, i managed to finish all of DC-vertigo's sandman series and it's really surreal and i like how the writing have gone, it's very creative of a story teller to just spin some disturbing stories like those. i also loved alan moore's watchmen and was so ecstatic about the way the film turned out to be. it's such a kick ass story that i have two pirate DVDs of it on me and i managed to get the addendum that is the black freighter DVD on it.

anyway, any news on steve rogers?
